After 50 years and an audience of more than two million, the Downtown Cabaret Theatre took its final bow on June 28, 2026. It's just too bad Mayor Ganim did not see fit to prioritize this landmark. To all the patrons who came through these doors: to the writers who made the Cabaret's children's theatre so unique, to the actors who put it all on the line, to the designers who achieved the impossible on a budget, and to the little staff that could, and always did — thank you. Fifty years of outstanding accomplishments, despite the odds. It has been my honor and privilege to have spent forty-six years keeping the Cabaret beacon alive.

"It will be a long time before people forget it."
